NeoGraft Hair Restoration Is Here!
Salmon Creek Plastic Surgery is pleased to announce that it is now offering NeoGraft Hair Restoration.
This exciting new procedure uses the NeoGraft
Automated FUE Hair Transplant device, which safely and effectively
allows us to remove healthy hair for transplantation to areas that have
lost hair. The NeoGraft device uses a motorized punch that gently
rotates around each individual hair graft in a perfectly cylindrical
shape. It employs a controlled pneumatic pressure (suction) to
slide out hair follicles smoothly and uniformly, so there is no pulling
and twisting as there can be with forceps. Suction strength can be
adjusted to accommodate different skin types and various sizes of
punches.
The
hair grafts extracted by the NeoGraft device are of consistently
excellent quality. Furthermore, because of the way that the grafts
are extracted and withdrawn from the donor area, each graft is uniform
for even results.
The
grafts are collected in a small canister that gently and frequently
mists them with sterile saline to keep them moist until they are ready
for implantation. The recipient sites are then prepared to the exact
length of the harvested grafts. The hair grafts are loaded into an
implantation cannula using negative pneumatic pressure, then inserted
into the recipient site with precision using positive pneumatic
pressure.
The
result is minimal discomfort, no scalpel incision, no sutures, no
linear scar, little to no risk of complications, quick recovery time,
fewer activity limitations and a more natural looking result than
traditional strip transplantation methods.

Everyone’s Happy With Their Breast Augmentation
Did she or didn’t she? With almost 400,000 breast implant procedures last year, according to the American
Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), that shapely friend who
seems a little curvier these days probably did have breast implants. In
fact, breast implants have become so popular that they are now the top
cosmetic surgical procedure in the U.S.
Although
many creams, lotions and potions are sold that claim to enlarge and
firm the bustline, implants remain the only proven way increase bust
size. Implants can take an A-cup to a C or D-cup; many women have also
chosen implants to add fullness to a B cup.
Containing
either saline solution or silicone gel, the implant is gently glided
under the skin by the surgeon and remains in place permanently. It looks
and feels completely natural.
Women
who have had breast implants are overwhelmingly happy with the results.
According to a recent ASAPS survey of more than 5,000 breast implant
recipients, 89% said the procedure met their goals and 94% said they
would recommend it to others.

New Technique: Short Scar Facelift
The
Short Scar Facelift (MACS-Lift) is a minimally invasive approach to the
facelift. The MACS or Minimal Access Cranial Suspension lift is
performed through a shorter incision than a full facelift and results in
a more natural youthful look due to the restoration of the sagging skin
in the lower two thirds of the face and neck. It is performed as an outpatient procedure and patients are able to go home on the same day as their surgery.
The
Short Scar Facelift differs from a regular facelift in that the scar is
shorter – just in front of the ear; and the method of lifting the face
is different. Strong sutures are used to suspend the deep tissues of the face from firm points near the ear and forehead.
The
advantages of this technique are that the procedure is done through a
shorter scar, so less dissection is required and therefore there is less
risk of bleeding and other problems. Another
advantage is that the recovery time for the short scar facelift is
shorter than the full facelift (1.5 – 2 weeks versus 3 - 4 weeks). In
addition, the direction of lift is straight up or vertical as opposed
to a traditional facelift which pulls obliquely on the skin resulting in
an unnatural windswept look. In contrast, the results of the Short Scar Facelift are much more natural appearing.
The
Short Scar Facelift has been performed for more than 10 years in Europe
and lasts about as long as a traditional facelift (5 - 7 years or
longer) depending on environmental factors and heredity. It is important
to remember that after any facial procedure, the normal aging process
resumes. Lifestyle choices, bone structure, skin
type, sun exposure, and heredity all play a part in determining how long
the desired result will last.
Because
the Short Scar Facelift has a shorter operative time than the full
facelift, it can be safely combined with other procedures such as eyelid
surgery, brow lift, and mid face lift.

Tummy Tucks Offer Solutions for All Sizes and Shapes of Tummies
Contrary to popular belief, a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, isn’t a "one-size-fits-all"
procedure. There are several different methods that can be utilized to
produce the desired results, depending upon each patient's body type,
physical characteristics and goals.
A traditional, or full tummy
tuck, is best for patients who have a significant amount of excess skin
to be removed as well as weak abdominal muscles. In this procedure, an
incision is made along the bikini line that stretches from hip to hip.
From this incision, excess fat is removed and the abdominal muscles are
tightened. Any excess skin is then stretched downward and removed before
the incision is closed. This is the most invasive tummy tuck procedure,
but it can produce dramatic results.
A mini-tummy tuck targets
the area below the navel. The incision is shorter than with a full tummy
tuck and excess fat and skin are removed from the abdominal area below
the navel. The abdominal muscles can also be tightened. This is a less
invasive procedure that offers a quicker recovery time and results in a
shorter scar.
Patients who have lost very large amounts of
weight are often with an abundance of excess skin. In this procedure,
both horizontal and vertical incisions are made to remove larger amounts
of excess skin and fat and tighten the waist area.
